House Passes FAA Reauthorization, Sending Bill to President Biden for His Signature
The House voted 387-65 to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for five years, sending the bill to President Biden for his signature. Of relevance to SWACCA, the five-year FAA reauthorization reflects our advocacy to build upon SWACCA’s success in securing $15 billion in funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) for airport improvements that may provide work for members. Specifically, the compromise bill provides an additional $4 billion per year for the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program for fiscal years 2025-2028, which can be used for improvements related to enhancing airport safety, capacity, and security—including through terminal modernization and expansion.
