DOT Announces First Round of Airport Infrastructure Funding SWACCA Helped to Secure in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced that it is awarding nearly $1 billion in SWACCA-supported funds from the President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to 99 airports of all sizes across the country. As you will recall, SWACCA successfully lobbied to include $15 billion in funding for airport improvements in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which was signed by President Biden in 2021.

According to DOT, the funding will go towards investments in larger security checkpoints, new baggage systems, and improved ground transportation. The investments, which are detailed here, will go to airports in 47 states and two territories.
