The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division announced that it will join the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a series of online webinars that will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays in August 2024 focused on workplace rights for expectant and new mothers to mark Breastfeeding Awareness Month.

The webinar series will begin with an initial review of federal maternal health laws on August 1, 2024 and will be followed by webinars focused on state-specific resources and local laws in North Carolina, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi. The webinars will introduce panelists that will vary by state and include representatives from state Women, Infant, and Children offices, milk banks, support groups, lactation consultants, and more.
