SWACCA Collaborates with CEA in Submitting Comments in Support of DOL’s Proposed Rescission of the Trump-era Joint Employer Final Rule

The Signatory Wall and Ceiling Contractors Alliance (SWACCA) joined its allies in the Construction Employers of America (CEA) to submit comments in support of the Department of Labor’s proposed rescission of the Trump-era final rule on joint employer status.

In the letter, CEA explains it opposed the final rule since its inception because it harms honest entrepreneurs, including companies represented by CEA member associations, the men and women they employ, and taxpayers by encouraging the misclassification of workers as independent contractors. In addition, the letter explains how the final joint employer rule represents an impermissible interpretation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The comment letter can be read in full here.
