OSHA to Hold Teleconferences on Fall Prevention, Opioid Addiction, and Suicide in the Construction Industry

Today, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has announced that the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) will host teleconferences of its “Education, Training and Outreach” Workgroup” and “Emerging and Current Issues Workgroup” on March 5, 2020.  The 15-member ACCSH advises the Secretary of Labor and the Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA in the formulation of standards affecting the construction industry and on policy matters arising in the administration of the safety and health provisions of the Construction Safety Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act. 

According to OSHA, the Education, Training and Outreach Workgroup teleconference will feature discussion regarding fall protection and trench safety.  The Emerging and Current Issues Workgroup teleconference will include discussion regarding opioids and suicides in construction.

The Education, Training and Outreach Workgroup teleconference will take place on March 5, 2020 from 10am to 12pm ET.  The Emerging and Current Issues Workgroup teleconference will be held the same day from 1pm to 3pm ET.  Both teleconferences will be available at (888) 658 – 5408 using passcode 7001480.  There is no requirement to RSVP in order to dial in.
