The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released several new resources to protect workers from extreme heat.

The new resources include: (1) an updated fact sheet that addresses how to recognize and respond to heat illness symptoms; (2) a new fact sheet to help identify risk factors that may cause workers to be more at risk for heat injury and illness; (3) a new fact sheet on preventing heat illness and injury through proper hydration; and (4) a new fact sheet with information on preventative steps, signs and symptoms and actions to take during a heat illness emergency.

In addition to the new resources above, OSHA also released its Protecting Workers from Heat Illness in Confined Spaces and the Heat Illness Illustrated fact sheets in English, Spanish, Korean, Portugese, Vietnamese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. The translations are available by visiting OSHA’s Heat Illness Prevention page.
