OSHA Announces Meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health

In tomorrow’s Federal Register, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will announce public meeting sessions for the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) and its Workgroups on June 14 – 15, 2022 to discuss, among other issues, OSHA’s pending proposed rule on Occupational Exposure to COVID in Healthcare Settings that may extend to employees of construction contractors working at healthcare facilities. 

The ACCSH’s Workgroups on “Infrastructure,” “Education and Training,” and “Emerging and Current Issues” will meet in order on June 14 beginning at 10am ET. The full ACCSH will meet on June 15 to discuss the following agenda items: (1) Occupational Exposure to COVID–19 in Healthcare Settings; (2) OSHA’s Construction Focus Four Hazards and Infrastructure; (3) Directorate of Construction industry update; (4) ACCSH Workgroup reports; and (5) public comments.

In its notice, OSHA also formally announced the appointment of Kenneth G. Seal, Industrial Specialist/Safety and Health Representative for the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), to serve on the ACCSH as an employee representative. Mr. Seal is replacing Cheryl Ambrose of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe-Fitting Industry (UA) and will serve the remainder of Ms. Ambrose’s term on the ACCSH, which ends May 14, 2023.
