OSHA Announces Increase in Inspections and Compliance Assistance in 2019

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has released final fiscal year (FY) 2019 statistics that highlight a significant increase in the number of inspections and compliance assistance.

In 2019, OSHA inspectors conducted 33,401 inspections—more than the previous three years—to address violations related to falls, silica exposure, and other workplace hazards. OSHA also provided nearly 1.4 million workers with training on safety and health requirements and identified 137,885 workplace hazards through the agency’s compliance assistance programs.
