SWACCA Joins Union and Contractor Allies to Urge Congress to Include the GROW Act in Next Round of COVID-19 Relief

SWACCA joined a broad coalition of union and construction allies in submitting a joint letter to House and Senate leadership urging Congress to ensure that the next coronavirus relief package currently under negotiation includes the Giving Retirement Options to Workers (GROW) Act. Importantly, the letter notes that the GROW Act has already been included in the House-passed HEROES Act, as well as the Grassley-Alexander Senate pension proposal.

SWACCA was joined in this letter by twelve other signatories that represent a diverse coalition of union and contractor organizations. In addition to SWACCA, the letter is signed by:

           The Associated General Contractors of America;

           FCA International;

           The International Council of Employers of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers;

           The International Union of Operating Engineers;

           The Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA!);

           The Mechanical Contractors Association of America;

           The National Electrical Contractors Association;

           The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association;

           The Association of Union Constructors;

           The Int'l Assocs. of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers;

           The United Association of Plumbers and Fitters; and

           The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America
