SWACCA Members Meet With IUPAT Leadership
On Thursday, April 25th, SWACCA members were graciously invited to the IUPAT’s International Training Center for a business meeting and a tour of the facilities. IUPAT General President, Ken Rigmaiden, met with SWACCA members and addressed many issues of common interest for SWACCA and the IUPAT. Also in attendance were IUPAT’s General Secretary-Treasurer George Galis, General VP At Large for Organizing James A. Williams, Jr., Chris Sloan, IUPAT director of Government Affairs, Tim Maitland, Fund Administrator for the IUPAT Industry Pension fund, and International Finishing Trades Institute Director Anton Ruesing.
After a discussion with these labor leaders about many of the IUPAT’s latest projects, SWACCA members were treated to a tour of the International Finishing Trades Institute by IFTI Director Anton Ruesing. The presentations from IUPAT officers and the tour of the training facilities helped to reinforce the mutual commitment to quality, workplace safety, and workforce training between SWACCA contractors and IUPAT leadership.
