GSA Announces Meetings of Green Building Advisory Committee’s Federal Buy Clean Implications Task Group
The General Services Administration’s (GSA) Green Building Advisory Committee announced a series of web-based meetings of the Committee’s Federal Buy Clean Implications Task Group (the Task Group) on alternate Thursdays from May 23, 2024 through February 27, 2025. The Task Group will continue the Committee’s work on the topic of Building Decarbonization by assessing the impact of the Federal Buy Clean Initiative within the broader scope of the Inflation Reduction Act, focusing on its influence on procurement practices and material selection in federal buildings. The purpose of the upcoming web-based meetings is for the Task Group to develop consensus recommendations for submission to the full Committee. The Committee will, in turn, deliberate on the Task Group recommendations and decide whether to proceed with formal advice to GSA based upon them.
The Task Group will meet on alternate Thursdays from May 23, 2024 through February 27, 2025 from 3pm to 4pm ET. Those seeking to participate in the meetings must register by 5pm ET on May 21, 2024 by email to gbac@gsa.gov with the individual’s first and last name, organization, email address, and whether they would like to provide comments. Participation instructions will be sent upon registration.
