GOP Senators Sign Letter to Biden Requesting the Rescission of the Recent Executive Order on Project Labor Agreements
Forty-three Republican Senators, led by Sen. Todd Young (R-IN), signed on to a letter to President Joe Biden opposing the Administration’s Executive Order requiring project labor agreements (PLAs) on federal and federally-assisted construction projects.
In the letter, the Senators argue that “mandating PLAs will prevent qualified contractors from fairly competing for contracts on taxpayer-funded projects,” and assert that 87.4% of the U.S. construction workforce does not belong to a union.
The GOP Senators who declined to sign the letter include: (1) Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY); (2) Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL); (3) Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO); (4) Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO); (5) Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK); (6) Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT); and (7) Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK).
The letter is available in its entirety here.
