Senate Working to Address Immigration Policy Changes that Could Be Included in Aid Package for Ukraine and Israel

As Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) prepares to bring a foreign aid supplemental spending package for Ukraine and Israel to the Senate floor as early as next week, bipartisan Senate negotiations on immigration policy changes in exchange for the aid are making progress on provisions tightening the initial screening process for migrants seeking asylum. The current hold-up in the negotiations, however, is a disagreement over restricting humanitarian parole.
