Senate Confirms Karla Gilbride as General Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Late last evening, the U.S. Senate confirmed Karla Gilbride in a vote of 50-46 to be the next General Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). SWACCA has been engaged in tracking this nomination and the EEOC more closely because of the EEOC’s May 2023 report on racial and gender discrimination in the construction industry that found, among other things, that women and people of color are underrepresented in the construction industry.
