OSHA and NHTSA to Hold Seminar Tomorrow, April 10 to Discuss Traffic Fatalities as a Leading Cause of Workplace Deaths

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the National Safety Council announced a panel tomorrow, April 10, 2024 from 2:30 to 3:45 PM ET to address traffic fatalities as a leading cause of workplace deaths.

The panel will focus on what employers can do to address distracted driving by their employees by fulfilling their “responsibility to have policies in place for safe driving practices, including work practices and procedures that do not contribute to distracted driving.” The panel will include OSHA Assistant Secretary Doug Parker, NHTSA Deputy Administrator Sophie Shulman, NTSB Member Michael Graham, National Safety Council CEO Lorraine Martin, and an unnamed “private sector representative.”  This free event will take place at the U.S. Department of Labor and the public may attend in person by registering here or attend virtually by registering here.
