OSHA Announces NACOSH Meeting on May 31 to Discuss Its Heat Injury and Illness Proposed Rulemaking

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced a public meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH) on May 31, 2023. The purpose of the meeting is to address the following agenda items: (1) a report from the NACOSH Heat Injury and Illness Prevention Work Group on the potential elements of the proposed heat injury and illness prevention standard that SWACCA submitted comments on with the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry in January 2022; (2) a discussion on whistleblowers; (3) an update from NACOSH members; (4) an update from OSHA; (5) an update from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health; and (6) the introduction of new NACOSH members.

The meeting will be available both virtually and in-person on May 31, 2023 from 9am to 4pm ET. Those interested in participating in the meeting must register here in advance using Docket ID OSHA-2023-0003. Both in-person and virtual access information will be provided upon registration. Written comments and/or requests to speak during the meeting are due by May 15, 2023 and can be submitted here using Docket ID OSHA-2023-0003.
