OSHA Releases New Resources to Protect Workers from Extreme Heat

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released new resources to help protect workers from extreme heat. The new resources include fact sheets to provide information on personal risk factors, the importance of an individual’s hydration status, and pregnant worker safety in the heat.

In addition, OSHA has established a Heat Illness Prevention Publication page to provide essential tips and information on preventing heat-related illnesses. Resources on this dedicated site include: (1) Heat Illness Prevention Stickers; (2) Heat Illness Illustrated Graphics; (3) Heat Illness Prevention Posters; (4) Heat Illness Prevention Fact Sheets; and (5) Heat Stress QuickCards that help to identify symptoms of heat illness, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
