Lawmakers Say No Vote This Week on Immigration/Border Security and Ukraine and Israel Funding Bill
Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), the lead Republican negotiator in the immigration/border security for Ukraine and Israel funding discussions, said that there will not be a vote on the bipartisan proposal this week as senators work to iron out final sticking points. Lankford, however, said that he is “very hopeful” that negotiators can release text of the bill sometime this week. The delay in the release of the bill text comes as Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC) signaled that he has issues with the way the proposed framework handles parole and said that he wants to see stricter restrictions on all types of asylum processes.
