House Passes Legislation to Reauthorize and Make Changes to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
Last night, the House passed H.R. 6655, A Stronger Workforce for America Act by a vote of 378-26. This legislation would reauthorize and make changes to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, including adding provisions SWACCA lobbied for to provide supportive services like child care, child support, medical assistance and transportation for individuals participating in a federal workforce development program.
The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
