FTC to Host Forum to Discuss Proposed Rule to Ban Non-Compete Clauses

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it will host a public forum on February 16, 2023 to discuss its January 19, 2023 proposed rule to prohibit employers from imposing non-compete agreements on their workers. The FTC states that the purpose of the forum is to provide an opportunity for individuals to directly share their experiences with non-competes and will supplement the FTC’s request for comments on its proposed rule on non-compete agreements.

The forum will be held on February 16, 2023 from 12pm to 3pm EDT and will be webcast on the FTC’s website here. Individuals that wish to speak during the forum must complete the FTC’s webform here. Requests to speak will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis as time is available.
