GSA Announces Upcoming Meetings of Its Green Building Advisory Committee in August, September, and October
The General Services Administration (GSA) announced public meetings of the Green Building Advisory Committee on August 13, 2024, September 26, 2024, and October 22, 2024. During these meetings, the Committee will address the following agenda items: (1) during the August 13, 2024 meeting, the Committee will address issues related to the 2024 Green Building Certification System Review Findings Report, which summarizes GSA’s formal review of six green building certification systems; (2) during the September 26, 2024 meeting, the Committee will address issues related to artificial intelligence and federal buildings, including investigating the opportunities AI offers GSA to optimize resources and improve facility operations and how AI technologies can accelerate building decarbonization; and (3) during the October 22, 2024 meeting, the Committee will facilitate an annual review of its activities in 2024.
The Green Building Advisory Committee provides advice to GSA on how to rapidly transform federal buildings to utilize sustainable green technologies and practices, focusing primarily on reviewing strategic plans, products, and activities of the Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings and providing advice regarding how the Office can accomplish its mission most effectively.
The meetings will be held as follows: (1) virtually on August 13, 2024 from 12pm to 2pm ET; (2) virtually on September 26, 2024 from 11:30am to 3:30pm ET; and (3) in-person and virtually on October 22, 2024 from 10am to 4pm ET. Those interested in participating in any of the meetings must register by 5pm ET on the Tuesday preceding each meeting in question by email to gbac@gsa.gov including name, organization, email address, the meeting that the individual will attend, and whether the individual would like to provide public comment.
