SWACCA Signs Joint Letter in Support of Multiemployer Pension Reform and the GROW Act

SWACCA joined a broad coalition of union and industry allies in submitting a joint letter to House and Senate leadership urging Congress to ensure that any pension reform legislation includes the creation of a new optional composite retirement plan as laid out in the Giving Retirement Options to Workers (GROW) Act. The letter also encourages Congress to continue to work toward an agreement that will shore up the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) by providing direct federal funding to secure the retirement benefits of millions of Americans.

SWACCA was joined in this letter by twelve other signatories that represent a diverse group of union and contractor organizations. In addition to SWACCA and other union contractor associations in the Construction Employers of America (CEA), other signatories include AGC, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC), LIUNA, the Iron Workers, the United Association (UA), and the Operating Engineers (IUOE).
