SWACCA Signs Joint Letter in Support of Comprehensive Pension Reform
SWACCA joined a broad coalition of labor and industry in submitting a joint letter to the House Education and Labor Committee in support of comprehensive multiemployer pension reform, including composite plans. The letter was delivered in advance of the Committee’s hearing today on the “Butch Lewis Act” which addresses part of the multiemployer pension crisis.
SWACCA is joined in this letter by more than sixty other signatories that represent a diverse group of American industries. Fellow signatories range from labor unions like the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and the Laborers International Union of North America, to trade associations like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers, to individual companies like UPS, Nestlé, and Kellogg’s.
