IUPAT Finishing Trades Institute Awarded Susan Harwood Safety Training Grant
Today, the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced the Fiscal Year 2021 Susan Harwood Grant Recipients and the award of grants totaling $6.7 million to 36 recipients.
Among the recipients of this competitive grant is the IUPAT Finishing Trades Institute (FTI), which received $196,400 to provide 14-21 hours of COVID-19 training to 465 employers and union construction workers. The training will include conducting risk assessments, developing pandemic plans, and pandemic resiliency. The grant will help FTI to revise existing training materials with current infectious disease and COVID-19 information and to provide training in English and Spanish.
