Biden Establishes Task Force Aimed at Making It Easier for Workers to Unionize

President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order creating the White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment that aims to make it easier for workers to unionize. The task force is directed to examine existing policies and issue a series of recommendations within 180 days on how they can be leveraged to “promote worker organizing and collective bargaining in the federal government.” The EO also directs the task force to recommend any new policies that should be created.

The effort will be led by Vice President Kamala Harris and will be staffed by more than a dozen Cabinet secretaries and agency heads, with Labor Secretary Marty Walsh serving as the task force’s vice chair.
